1969 Crosby, Stills & Nash release their first album and decide to tour when they find another a guitarist. Atlantic Records president Ahmet Ertegun suggests Neil Young, and the rest is history.

1975 David Bowie's Fame is released.

1978 Members of the group Kansas are named Deputy Ambassadors of Goodwill by UNICEF in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York.

1980 Roxy Music scored their second UK No.1 album with 'Flesh And Blood'.

1983 David Bowie on the Serious Moonlight tour appearing at The Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh.

1985 Sister Sledge were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'Frankie', the sisters only UK No.1.

1986 Wham! were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with their fourth and final UK No.1 'The Edge Of Heaven'. Also on this day Wham! played their farewell concert in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium, London.
